What Does it Mean to Join a Co-op?

CLASSROOM VOLUNTEER

You will volunteer in your child’s class on a rotating basis, frequency depending on the number of students in the class and days of class per week. Students LOVE this! When you (or anyone approved to be there for your kiddo) volunteers, your child benefits! She/he will be the helper for the day and have extra responsibilities that make her/him feel special.

PARENT JOB

For every child you have enrolled at the school, your family will be assigned a parent job. By having a job, we hope you really do believe that this is YOUR school! Jobs and responsibilities vary, but you can plan on spending about 10 hours a school year on your job. Jobs include, but are not limited to: Memory Book Maker, Cleaning Crew, Fundraising Team, Class Coordinator, Playground and Pets, Community Outreach Team.

FUNDRAISING

Each student has a $90 fundraising commitment. You can participate in the several fundraisers we have throughout the year (Charleston Wrap, Hidden River Roasters Coffee, Cookie Dough, etc.) or you can do a buy-out. We try to have fundraisers that we all enjoy!

BOARD MEETINGS

Have your voice heard! The school has 5 Parent Board Meetings a Year. Every voice/opinion matters. Attend virtually from the comfort of your own home after you put the kids to bed, and stay in-the-know, plus be an advocate for what you want to see in YOUR school.

COMMUNITY!

By attending the CW Co-op, you are joining a community of like-minded individuals→   those that want to be a part of our children’s early years. We will have parent only meet-ups, family outings, events at the school, playdates, and more. You can be as involved as you want!
