Camas-Washougal Parent Co-op Preschool

Coronavirus Safety Plan

At the CW Co-op, our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our students and the families that make up our wonderful community. We follow a set of guidelines and procedures intended to fulfill our mission of providing a healthy and caring community for young children to grow and learn in. We thank you for your continued support as we navigate ongoing changes and make decisions in accordance with state guidelines.

Feel free to read up on our COVID-19 Protocols here.

Signs & Email Communications

Signs will be posted around the school to provide parents with current information regarding hygiene, symptoms, what to watch for, and how they can help us keep the preschool safe. The Executive Board will continue to keep parents updated through email, our private Facebook page, and our website. Please review all communications from the preschool to ensure you are kept up to date on any additional policy changes or updates.

Masks

Students are NOT required to wear masks, however, masks can be worn by students as a personal decision.

Our teachers are NOT required to wear masks.

Helping Parents are NOT required to wear masks.

If you are more comfortable wearing a mask, please do what makes you feel the best.

*As Washington State provides health related updates, we will/may update our procedures as appropriate.

Handwashing/Sanitizer

Staff, helping parents, and students will frequently sanitize their hands during class time, before and after snack, and before and after using the gym or playground. Bottles of hand sanitizer will be available for helping parents and teachers to use at stations as students move between activities. Students will take trips to the bathrooms throughout the day to wash with soap and water as well.

Gym/Playground

Students will use hand sanitizer before and after any gross motor time outside or in the gym. We encourage parents to pack rain gear, boots, gloves, hats, or other outside gear to increase outdoor play.

Shared Objects

We will continue to utilize the hooks in the hall and encourage families to spray down their coats, backpacks, etc. with tea tree oil or a similar antiviral, sanitizing spray. We encourage families to wash personal items more frequently.

Water Systems

Each student should bring their own water bottle (labeled) daily to class.

Enhanced Cleaning

We have increased sanitizing efforts and strength of products used to clean in between AM and PM classes as well as at the end of every day. Helping parents will continue to use snack spray during class time and a bleach/water spray at the end of class. In addition, teachers wipe down their own tables and frequently-touched surfaces with an approved cleaner before the next class starts. The assistant teachers aid in cleaning bathrooms between AM and PM classes and at the end of the school day.

Helping Parent/Sub List

We rely on a substitute list both for our teachers in case they are sick or for helping parents if they cannot make their assigned days. If you are willing and able to volunteer as a substitute for either our teachers or other helping parents, please contact vp@cwcoop.org to be added to our contact list. Having a number of sub options allows all our families to make the necessary call to stay home if they are concerned about illness and will be very important in keeping our students in school while keeping all of our families safe.

Continued Guidance

As state guidelines change or as we receive more information from local school districts, we will reevaluate our policies to ensure the safety of your family and our community.
